I turn out the lights and listen as a piano plays in the darkness

Creating visions in blue and memories of green,

That take me into dreaming of summer and of spring

To winter and to autumn

And all the days lost that lay forgotten in between

The melody is much softer now

Than I remember it from my days of youth

I smile at your memory, laughter at our actions, I pray for you, forsooth

The kisses never given

The feelings never shared

The moments we abandoned

Times we never cared

An hourglass once hidden

Its pale sands now run onto the beaches our hopes and dreams once shared,

The piano plays so soft now its tune a playful sin

I close my eyes and smile

And the long goodnight comes upon me, I greet it with a grin.
