Hear the cry of a guitar lost in pain,

Sound of a blues man howling

No longer able

To play life’s sorry game
Watch him headin down

Taking  to the wrong side of the tracks

Looking for some kind of easy love

In a shady part of town
Searching every doorway

Hitting bum notes every time

Playing to the shadows

Reaching out come what may
Stands there at the corner

Same time every night

Dreaming that tomorrow

Will make him more than just another mourner
So plays the tunes, moans the songs

Makes his guitar cry an echo of his pain

Lines etched deep upon his face, scars of his life’s sorry game

Stands a lonely blues man trying to find the right in everything that’s wrong.
